What is the difference between power battery and energy storage battery?

In the classification of battery usages, batteries are divided into consumer batteries (3C batteries, used in mobile phones, laptops, digital cameras, etc.), power batteries (new energy vehicles, light electric vehicles, electric tools, etc.), and energy storage batteries (power stations, communication base stations, etc.).

For power battery, it also a kind of energy storage battery. However, due to the limitation of the size and weight of the vehicle and the requirements of acceleration at startup, the power battery has higher performance requirements than the ordinary energy storage battery, such as the energy density should be as high as possible, the battery charging speed should be faster, and the discharge current should be larger.According to the standard, if capacity of the power battery less than 80% which no longer be used in EV.

However, from cells they can be the same. Both lithium iron phosphate battery and NCM/NCA can be used. The main difference is BMS battery management system, such as battery power response speed and power characteristics, SOC estimation accuracy, charging and discharging characteristics, etc.
